This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how WBN News Corp Inc.™ ("WBN," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies across our Platforms — including our websites, subscriber portals, Cast OS™ products, mobile applications, and any other digital product or service we operate.
It tells you what these technologies are, why we use them, what each category does, who else may place them on our Platforms, and — importantly — how you can manage or disable them. We have written this Policy to be clear and specific. You should be able to read it and know exactly what is happening on your device when you visit a WBN Platform.
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device — your computer, phone, or tablet — when you visit. It is stored in your browser and allows the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with its pages.
Cookies are not programs and cannot run code on your device. They cannot access other files stored on your device or transmit viruses. They are simply small pieces of stored information that help websites function more effectively and provide a more relevant experience.
- Session cookies exist only for the duration of your visit and are deleted when you close your browser. They are typically used for essential functions like keeping you logged in as you navigate between pages.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device after your browser is closed, for a defined period of time. They allow a website to remember your preferences and settings on your next visit.
WBN also uses tracking technologies beyond traditional cookies. These include web beacons — small invisible images embedded in web pages or emails that confirm when content has been viewed — and local storage, a browser feature that allows websites to store data on your device in a way similar to cookies but with greater capacity. Where we refer to "cookies" in this Policy, we mean all of these technologies collectively unless we state otherwise.
WBN uses four categories of cookies. Each category has a distinct purpose and a different level of user control. We describe each below in plain terms.
Some cookies on WBN Platforms are placed by third parties — organisations other than WBN — whose services we have integrated into our Platforms. These third parties operate under their own privacy and cookie policies, and WBN does not control how they collect or use information gathered through their cookies.
- Analytics providers. We use third-party analytics services to help us understand Platform performance. These providers may set their own cookies to collect usage data on our behalf. This data is used only for the purposes described in Section 3.
- Payment processors. Where you make a payment on our Platforms, our payment processor may set cookies as part of the secure payment process. WBN does not have access to your payment card data.
- Authentication providers. Where social login or third-party authentication is offered, the relevant provider may set cookies as part of the authentication process.
- Embedded content providers. Where our Platforms embed content from third-party sources — such as video players or interactive tools — those providers may set their own cookies. We identify embedded third-party content where it appears.
- WBN does not permit third-party advertising networks to place tracking cookies on our Platforms for the purpose of building cross-site behavioural profiles without your explicit consent.
- WBN does not permit third parties to use cookies placed on our Platforms to collect data for their own commercial purposes beyond the service they are providing to WBN.
Several of WBN's AI-powered features — including content personalisation, dashboard configuration, and intelligence feed preferences — use cookies and local storage to function. This section explains how cookies and our AI systems interact.
- Personalisation. WBN's personalisation engine uses preference and analytics cookies to tailor your content feed and dashboard to your professional interests. This data stays within WBN's systems. It is not shared with third-party AI providers for model training purposes without your explicit consent. Full details of how personalisation works are set out in our Responsible AI Policy.
- Session continuity. Essential cookies allow our AI tools — including SignalCast™ and PromptCast™ — to maintain your session, remember your configuration, and deliver a consistent experience across your use of these products.
- Performance monitoring. Analytics cookies provide data that WBN uses to evaluate and improve the performance of our AI systems — identifying where outputs are useful and where they are not. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
- No AI profiling for sale. WBN does not use cookie data to build profiles that are sold to third parties or used to target you with commercial content by external organisations. AI-derived insights remain within WBN's operational environment.
You are in control of most cookies on WBN Platforms. Here is how to manage them.
Every major browser allows you to view, manage, and delete cookies stored on your device, and to set preferences about which cookies you accept in future. The process varies by browser. Here is where to find the relevant settings in the most common browsers:
Registered WBN users can manage analytics and preference cookie settings directly through their account settings. Where a cookie preference centre is available on a specific WBN Platform, it will be accessible via the cookie notice displayed on your first visit.
- Essential cookies disabled: Our Platforms will not function correctly. Login, session management, and secure page access will be unavailable.
- Analytics cookies disabled: You will not be identifiable in our usage data. Platform functionality is not affected.
- Preference cookies disabled: Your settings and display preferences will not be saved between sessions. You may need to reconfigure your experience on each visit.
- Commercial cookies disabled: You will still see commercial content on our Platforms where it appears, but it will not be contextually tailored.
Some browsers include a Do Not Track ("DNT") signal — a setting that sends a request to websites asking them not to track your browsing activity. At this time, no universally accepted technical standard exists for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently alter our data practices in response to DNT requests.
We recognise this may be unsatisfying. Our position is that browser-level cookie controls — described in Section 6 — give you more meaningful and reliable control over your experience on WBN Platforms than DNT signals currently provide. We will revisit our approach to DNT if and when a recognized standard is adopted.
If you have concerns about tracking that are not addressed by the controls described in Section 6, please contact us at privacy@wbnn.news and we will work with you to address them.
We will update this Policy when our use of cookies changes — for example when we add new tracking technologies, engage new third-party providers, or expand our Platform functionality. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Where changes are material, we will provide notice through our Platforms before the changes take effect.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Previous versions are available on request.
